Looking Back While Walking Forward

Earth Spirits Part 1

This painting is the first of two large works, painted in Gesso and Acrylic.
While studying in Perth, Western Australia, I met Robert Juniper. At the time, he was very established, and he had many of his works on display at the West Australian State Gallery. I met him a few times at his exhibitions, one memorable time was at his Broom Exhibition. I somehow connected with his spirituality and have carried this with me all this time.

This painting is Part 1, and when I paint it, I will include Part 2.

The Rider Part 2

Whilst part one is about the ancient spirits of the land, Totems I have been developing for many years. Part two is about learning from the past. I want to include a camel train in the bottom right corner.

The rider who is seen from the top. Looks back at what was, while moving forward into the future.  Too often, we as a civilisation don't learn from the past.
The thing is, it is only one rider animated into six frames in one painting.
